2017 WINNER OF THE FISHER'S GHOST JAMES GLEESON AWARD FOR SURREALISM
It's not every day you get to win the same prize twice. Still shell shocked, I'm pleased to announce that I'm the '2017 Winner of the James Gleeson Award for Surrealism' at Campbelltown Arts Centre. The judging panel included esteemed art professionals, Daniel Mudie-Cunningham (Senior Curator of Art Bank, artist and writer), Ben Quilty (artist and AGNSW board of Trustee Member) and Tess Allas (artist, curator and writer). I would like to thank Campbelltown Arts Centre for putting on an amazing evening and to the judges for finding my work worthy and honouring me the award. I would also like to thank the sponsors of the award Michael and Marilyn Reardon-Small for purchasing my work for their collection which will become part of Campbelltown Arts Centre's collection in future years to come. DOUBLE FINALIST - FISHER'S GHOST ART AWARD CAC 2017
Doubly pleased to be a finalist in two categories at Fisher's Ghost Art Award at Campbelltown Arts Centre this year. My Painting 'Existential Void' is a finalist in the Open section whilst my painting 'I fucked with Matta and Van Gogh' is a finalist in the Contemporary section. Looking very forward to the opening on the 3rd November as this one always draws a big crowd!

PORTIA GEACH FINALIST 2017
I'm over the moon that my painting of 'Jane Caro' is a finalist in this years prestigious Portia Geach Memorial award at the SH Ervin Gallery! To be exhibited alongside such an amazing bunch of Australia women artists is such an honour.
The Portia Geach Memorial Award is Australia’s most prestigious art prize for portraiture by women artists. The Award was established by the will of the late Florence Kate Geach in memory of her sister, Portia Geach. The non-acquisitive award of $30,000 is awarded by the Trustee for the entry which is of the highest artistic merit, ‘…for the best portrait painted from life of some man or woman distinguished in Art, Letters, or the Sciences by any female artist resident in Australia during the twelve months preceding the closing date.
The Exhibition will open Fri 20 October 2017 until Sun 26 November 2017.

'Land' at Manly Art Gallery and Museum 3 Nov- 3 Dec 2017
I'm thrilled to have had my proposal submission accepted by senior curator of Manly Art Gallery and Museum Katherine Roberts for an exhibition themed 'Land'. The curated exhibition will feature 43 artists from Sydney using a broad range of media in responses to the theme 'Land' for inspiration. I'm looking forward to producing the work and being showcased later in the year. More details to come!

'3 Painters' Group Show
It's wonderful to be showing alongside two of my colleagues and fellow painters for an upcoming group show at the McGlade Gallery ACU Strathfield, Sydney. The last time our works were seen together was when we were all finalists in The Dobell Prize for Australian Drawing at the Art Gallery of NSW, so this is very special. The show will be officially launched on the 26th of April by the lovely Nick Vickers, independent curator, please join us for drinks.

I'm very honoured to have recently been invited to be apart of the judging panel for Hazelhurst Art On Paper Awards. The list of finalists look amazing and it's going to be a cracker of a show. Good luck to all the selected finalists! The opening for the Exhibition will be 19th May 2017 at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and Arts Centre. The winning works will be judged by acclaimed Australian artist Lindy Lee.

The Opening Night and Award Announcement will be held on Friday 4 November, from 6pm. This is a ticketed event. Children under 16 year a free, when accompanied by a paying adult. Please see Campbelltown Arts Centre website for details.

The Fisher’s Ghost Art Award has been running for over 50 years and awards $30,000 in prize money. The Fishers Ghost Art Award coincides with Campbelltown Annual Festival of Fishers Ghost, held over 10 days the Festival dates back to 1956 and celebrates Australia’s most famous ghost – Frederick Fisher.
The winning entry in the Award’s Open section is acquisitive to the C-A-C permanent collection and is awarded $20,000. In the past it has been awarded to some of Australia’s most respected Contemporary artists including Elisabeth Cummings, Khaled Sabsabi, Justene Williams, David Bromley, Marion Borgelt, Raquel Ormella and Philip Wolfhagen.
